RUSTOM M. COOPER

COOPER SIR, as he was known to us, was a founder member of the Troop and had been with the Troop since its inception in 1914. He was made Scout Master in 1926 and remained so for nearly two decades, till due to his other engagements, he had to leave active Scouting for a few years.

After the demise of Scouter Sethna, Cooper Sir, came back into the saddle and took the reins of the Group as well as the active running of the Society. He then became the Group Leader ( Scouts ) as well as the Honorary Treasurer of the Society.

Cooper Sir was very interested in Scouting. He used to accompany our Scouts on camps, picnics, etc. and the Rovers and Scouters on various hikes and till the end he held the post of Hon. Treasurer of the Society and was also Group Leader – ( Scouts ). In 1932, he attended a Scout Master’s course under Scouter A.C. Miller at Lonavala.

Cooper Sir, inspite of his age was young at heart and never allowed the age difference to come between him and the Scouters and Rovers. He saw to it that the Group and the Society was run along the same lines as laid down by Sethna Sir. He retired as a Senior Officer of the Reserve Bank of India.
